Unified board connector

Defining and unifying a connector let team members switch quickly between different products, while making programming and current measurements easy.

On my own initiative, I created a set of boards:

  • Toolset – the main, stationary board. A profiler (e.g. Otii), a Saleae or a programmer is connected to it. You can think of it as a hardware docking station
  • Protoboard – a board that serves as a base. It has clearly labeled pins, places for buttons or switches, and extra jumpers. Finished boards are soldered onto it

The set therefore lets you swap different protoboards on a single toolset, eliminating the need to constantly connect/solder SWD wires, power and so on. Once a board is soldered on, it can be covered with a 3D-printed enclosure, almost entirely ruling out damage to the soldered protoboard.
